ReardonSmith Landscape were appointed to develop the design of a green roof to discharge conditions post planning. The roof garden was proposed on top of a lightweight third floor extension and careful attention was made to ensure the loading and build up depths were minimised on top of the lightweight structure.

Inspiration was taken from the art galleries and bespoke tailoring that is synonymous with the site location in the centre of Mayfair, to create a lively coloured ‘growing mural’ which could be viewed from above from the adjacent tower residences. The planting palette was carefully chosen to withstand a minimal substrate build up, work with the unique microclimate, maximise the biodiversity of the green roof and improve habitat, minimise maintenance requirements and create a floral display through the seasons.
